    Overview

    • Custom Development for the Dutch Ministry of Defence: RHTC supplied five specialized test units to the Dutch Ministry of Defence, specifically designed for testing jacks used in military aircraft maintenance, especially for F16s.
    • Not Just a Press – A Jack Tester: Based on RHTC’s hydraulic press concept, the machine was adapted into a dedicated test unit to measure and validate the pressure force exerted by different jacks, ensuring reliability and performance.

    Deployment and Usage

    • Five Military Airbases in the Netherlands: The test units are now in operation at five Dutch military airbases – Eindhoven, Woensdrecht, Gilze-Rijen, Volkel, and Leeuwarden.
    • Supporting 500-600 Jacks: These units support around 500 to 600 jacks of different types and sizes used by the Royal Netherlands Air Force for maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
    • On-site Testing: Previously, jack testing was outsourced, requiring transport to an offsite location. The introduction of the RHTC test units allows testing directly at the airbases, saving time and costs.

    Technical Features

    • Equipped with a Loadcell in the Movable Head:
      • Precise Force Measurement: The loadcell captures the force generated by the jack, displaying the force in tons on the unit’s side display.
      • Quality Control: Enables accurate verification of jack performance, including valve and seal integrity under load.
    • Movable Head with Adjustable Height and Position:
      • Height Adjustment: A winch allows the operator to easily adjust the head’s height.
      • Side-to-Side Movement: The loadcell can move left to right, making it versatile for testing different jack sizes and shapes.
    • Heavy-Duty Construction:
      • Total Weight – 2200 kg: This includes a 1000 kg thick ground plate to handle the forces without deformation.
      • Robust Ground Plate: Ensures that the force generated by the jack is transferred without compromising the test unit’s structure.

    Adaptability and Benefits

    • Versatile Application: The test unit can accommodate a wide range of jacks, making it suitable for different types and sizes beyond those used in aircraft maintenance.
    • Mobility for International Missions: The test units are designed to be transported for use on overseas missions, ensuring that jacks can be tested and verified on location, regardless of where the aircraft are stationed.

    Development and Recognition

    • Collaborative Design Process:
      • Developed in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Defence and Lacom Machinefabriek (manufacturer of RHTC presses).
      • Resulted in a test unit design that meets the rigorous requirements of military applications.
    • NATO Database Registration:
      • Registered Design: The RHTC jack tester is registered in the NATO database, making it available to other defense departments within NATO countries.
      • NCAGE Number: RHTC has been assigned an NCAGE number, enhancing accessibility for other defense departments to acquire similar testing solutions.
    • Opens Opportunities Across Markets: Although developed for military aircraft maintenance, this jack tester is ideal for any industry where pressure forces need to be tested and measured, such as automotive, heavy equipment, construction, and more.
