Example Parameters:

  • Die Set Height: 350 mm (start position of press cycle set to 350 mm on HMI)
  • Material: 3 mm thick stainless steel blanks, with a bounding box of 250 x 85 mm
  • Required Stroke: 3.25 mm
  • Clearance for Loading/Unloading: 35 mm
  • Total Stroke Required: 3.25 mm + 35 mm = 38.25 mm (added to the start position to attain the end position of the stroke)
  • Press Speed: 105 mm/sec
  • Return Speed: 160 mm/sec
  • Loading/Unloading Time: 5 seconds each (total 10 seconds)
  • Note: Dwell time at the bottom of the stroke is programmable but not used in this calculation.

All parameters would be entered into a Program, Stored in the Program (Recipe) Storage mode, and recalled into Automatic Mode and run from that mode with auto cycles using the Dual Palm Button Controls.

Cycle Time Calculation:

  1. Pressing Stroke Time:
    • Downward Stroke (38.25 mm): 38.25 mm105 mm/sec≈0.36 sec
    • Return Stroke (38.25 mm): 38.25 mm160 mm/sec≈0.24 sec
    • Total Stroke Time: 0.36 sec (downward)+0.24 sec (return)=0.60 sec
  2. Manual Loading/Unloading Time:
    • Total Time: 10 seconds
  3. Total Cycle Time:
    • 0.60 sec (pressing stroke)+10 sec (loading/unloading)≈10.60 sec

Hourly Production Rate:

  • Cycle Time: 10.60 seconds
  • Cycles per Minute: 60 sec10.60 sec≈5.66 cycles
  • Pieces per Hour: 5.66 cycles/min×60 min≈340 pieces

Daily Production Rate:

  • Production Hours: 7 hours
  • Pieces per Day: 340 pieces/hour×7 hours=2380 pieces

This scenario demonstrates manual loading and unloading, but the Profi Press PPCT-100 C-Frame Press can also integrate with automatic feeders and processing systems to significantly enhance production rates and efficiency.
